Joe Blair Surfboard
My new stick:
I recently purchsed this 8′6″ longboard through Wardog in Santa Barbara by the shaper Joe Blair of Solana Beach, California. The feelings that accompany the acquisition of a new surfboard are hard to describe. Needless to say, after 3 sessions I’m stoked.
The first day out on it happened near Yachats on Oregon’s central coast:

Hi, How is the new board working out? I’m thinking about getting a Long Board from Joe.
Thanks

Also, follow up question how is the board from joe going?
I have three boards from Joe and they rock. Hope that you like his boards. He is a true custom shaper - here is the link to his website http://www.jblairsurf.com

Michael,
Hey I saw your blog, thank you so much for all the Aloha and glad that I get to make boards for you.
When you get back and settled give me a buzz.
The surfshop next to me sells surfboxes which will be the safest way to me.
YOu should try to make it down and surf the reefs tomorrow with us or just give me a call 760-809-9074

I have several of Joe’s custom made boards and I can’t say enough about how they rock! His unique quad fin setup is revolutionary and I know it’s what sets his boards apart from all others! I can’t wait to have him shape me another…

I’ve had the privilege to own a board shaped by Joe a few years back. I had owned many quads back in the 1980’s, but none as good as this one. I picked it up on a whim. Needless to say it was ripped off and I went a few years without one. I finally got in touch with Joe and am having him shape me one almost identical to the one I previously had. So stoked! Joe is a genuinely cool guy to converse with and I’m glad his reputation precedes him. I’m sure I’ll be having more shaped by him in the near future.
