Crystal Mountain backcountry
Pat and Melanie invited Michelle and me to spend the final three days of the Gregorian year 2006 with them at Crystal Mountain, Washington. We jumped at the chance to hang with Pat & Mel and to ski a mountain we wish we visited more.
Day 1 we toured out of Pickhandle Basin to Crown Point and skied out via Bullion Basin.
Day 2 we bought lift tickets, skied a few groomers plus laps in Campbell Basin, traversed to Silver King and then toured to the ridgeline between Bear Gap and Threeway Peak. The final descent was steep and fluffy.
Day 3 we toured to near Bear Gap and then did runs off the ridge Between Bear Gap and Threeway Peak.
There’s a lot of interesting backcountry terrain around Crystal.
