Foodie Babies Wear Chanterelles
looking forward to winter
This shot is a blast from the fairly recent past:
Captured atop Corn Biscuits at Turnagain Pass with Blake, Poach, Lisa and CD. Not sure I’ll be headed for AK this winter unfortunately unless I pull a bon bon of an assignment. Not sure I’ll even be skiing much around here with a newborn and all. There will be plenty of time to ski. There will be plenty of time to ski…
Make It Red
Once upon a time when I worked for one I heard another art dealer say to a photographer:
“If it doesn’t sell make it red. If it still doesn’t sell make it big. And if it STILL doesn’t sell make it big AND red.”
There’s no stratergery here; the bag I happened to grab before heading out this morning happened to be the red one. Cooking the whole lot tonight with butter, olive oil, garlic and a touch of soy and sugar. Will eat some of the sauce though freeze most of it to enjoy come winter. Ok. Enough blogging about Chanterelles. Oh how I do love them though! Especially the hunt.
Missoula to Portland on 1 tank of fuel
We just purchased a used vehicle in Missoula, Montana. Incredibly, I was able to drive the new rig home on 1 tank of fuel. That’s right: 1 tank of fuel. Fumes powered me the last 30 miles I’m sure but I still made it. Can you guess the type of rig? Hint: it’s not an overpriced stop-gap hybrid. Another hint: don’t buy them in Portland or Seattle as you’ll pay a 2-3k premium. It’s cheaper to fly to most places in the west and drive them home yourself. First correct guess gets a free 8.5 x 11 print of your choice.
off the chain: wingless.txt
I have an 80 gig hard drive full of mostly live soundboard recordings I’ve collected over the years. I stumbled upon and opened the wingless.txt file this morning to discover an album I never knew I had:
